Traditional use: Cardamom is native to India and is used in Ayurvedic medicine for flatulence, colic, and poor digestion. The essential oil of cardamom has many applications in perfumery. It is added to oriental flavors for soaps, cosmetics, and body care products.
Cardamom is a perennial plant. Similar to the reed, cardamom is a wild plant that is grown in India and Ceylon, which can grow up to 4 feet tall and has long, silky green blades with small yellowish flowers, violet spikes, and large fleshy rhizomes similar to ginger.
Advantages of the essential oil of cardamom: anorexia, constipation, cough, dyspepsia, bad breath, indigestion, flatulence, loss of appetite, muscle cramps and spasms, nausea, nervous tension.
